The Jesus Christ Sex Scene; Flying Babies...

Jasmine Pelfrey:

Your new book, "The Sexy Part of the Bible" (Feb. 2011), is
not just your first with a major American house--it's your most
controversial, most talked about. There's a graphic love scene
between Jesus Christ and a Black supermodel...flying babies.

What is the book about?

KOLA:

It's about the violent unfairness of identity...not knowing
what we really are. And it's a love story.

Jasmine Pelfrey:

I didn't know that people in Africa have been consuming
a skin bleaching pill called 'the Michael Jackson pill.' The
little part of the book your PR people let me read was
really quite gripping and just...nothing like what I imagined.

It's a very shocking story. But also beautiful.

KOLA:

The human need for love makes it beautiful...and the exploration
of Black women in their authentic image makes the book beautiful.
I wanted the book to be very spiritual but very sensuous and sexual
at the same time.

It's a very powerful message that I wanted to give to Black women.

Jasmine Pelfrey:

You succeeded beautifully.

The sex and the love story between Eternity and SeaHorse was amazing
to no end...but then the questions about God and God's identity--the questions
about the spirit world and the way they intertwined with the leading lady's tragedy.
All I can say is bravo.

KOLA:

Thanks. I got nose bleeds writing this book. It's been hell getting it
published. But it's something that I feel everyone can relate to in
some way. It's a shocking book for some...but for me, it's just passion.

Jasmine Pelfrey:

I love the way that you explore the White Scientists and what they
do in Africa--nobody questions what they do. The experiments using
Africans as Guinea Pigs in the book left me unhinged. Was the mother
a transsexual?

KOLA:

The scientific stuff in the book is all based on fact. And you have to
read the whole book to find out the mother's story. There was also
the story of the poor Orangutan--what the scientists did to that animal
in order to create the leading lady.

Jasmine Pelfrey:

One of the most arresting passages...is when Eternity has sex with
Jesus Christ. Were you scared to write that?

KOLA:

No, I wasn't scared to write it. I was scared that no one would publish
it. But I wasn't scared to write it.

My book features the "Black" African Jesus Christ, not the White Western
Christ.

Jasmine Pelfrey:

I can't wait for it be released this February. Every woman on earth is going to love
reading this Kola ---"The Sexy Part of the Bible." It really is your best book ever.
